Acknowledging Black success for us means that we are elevating the achievements of our community and recognising the greatness in each Black person’s journey in whatever course they choose to take. Black Excellence Network was founded with a singular core ethos – to change the lives of black students across the UK and create a plethora of Black success stories, within education and beyond.

Black Excellence Network was founded with a singular core ethos – to change the lives of black students across the UK”

Within blackness, there is the union of different cultures, backgrounds, and upbringings. In the UK, our community encircles those that have come from the districts of the North to our peers who have grown up in the boroughs of London. Being Black is a heterogenous, multi-layered experience with each of us striving to overcome our trials and tribulations, therefore celebration of black success truly matters. Our environments have shaped us however it is our choices, ambitions and drive that are continually defining us. As a community, we must platform one another, and spotlight our respective wins.

“As a community, we must platform one another, and spotlight our respective wins.”

Our successes come in all shapes and forms; encompassing those that thrive in the arts and sciences as well as those that excel in creative expressions and unique talents. When we talk about highlighting the successes of our network there many examples that we can highlight. Our Co-Founder George Obolo is a multi-award-winning social entrepreneur and TEDx speaker. George was listed as joint 5th in the top 150 Future Leaders Powerlist Magazine 2021, he is amongst the Rare Rising Stars 2022 and received the ‘Aspire Young Innovator’ Award 2021. In his projects, George imparts his knowledge and insight to create value and ensure that all students are effectively supported. Black Excellence Network Co-Founder – Oyinda Adeniyi is a social entrepreneur who was also listed as joint 5th in the top 150 Future Leaders Powerlist Magazine 2021 and received the ‘Exceptional Contribution to the Community’ Award 2022/23.
